Matt is a Director with considerable expertise in financial analysis, debt restructuring, credit analysis, cash flow modeling, due diligence, risk management, and securities valuations. Matt has advised middle-market companies in the materials, information technology, and consumer discretionary industries.
Matt recently supported a $300 million revenue plastics manufacturing company with a long-term review of operations that explored several strategic options including plant consolidations, business unit spin-offs, and debt refinancing. Matt additionally developed cash flow projections to help the company conserve liquidity while finding capital solutions and conducting negotiations with senior creditors. Matt also has turnaround experience in the information technology sector, working with a global hardware manufacturer with production operations in the US and Italy.
Matt also recently assisted a middle market for-profit education client analyze and execute on a buy-side acquisition target with work including the development of financial models, due-diligence, valuations, and related ad-hoc analysis to support the acquisition and integration.
Matt has experience in both buy-side and sell-side transactions and has deep expertise in the valuation of complex cash and derivative securities. His experience on the sell-side includes supporting several trading desks in the product controller and operations specialist functions, including assisting in distressed debt scenarios which included re-organizations both in and out of bankruptcy as well as liquidations. He has significant experience in credit analysis and the valuation of credit oriented securities, including syndicated loans, high yield debt, credit derivatives, trade claims, private placements, municipal bonds, and structured securities.
Prior to joining Mackinac Partners, Matt worked as a Data Analyst for Soros Fund Management, a large global investment firm with $26 billion under management. He also previously served as a FICC Product Controller for Goldman Sachs & Co in New York, as an Associate for Syndicated Bank Debt. and as a Credit Analyst for JPMorgan Chase & Co in Dallas.
Matt earned his Bachelors of Business Administration with a major in Finance and an Investments emphasis from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).View Other Professionals
