Zach Weissenborn

Zach Weissenborn

Zach is a Vice President with five years of experience in corporate finance, budget and financial modeling, business plan development assistance, business intelligence research and reporting, accounting, tax preparation and filings, and tax audit.

Zach recently developed an integrated cash flow model for a mid-western client. He also developed and instituted a budget and cash flow review methodology based on the new model for use in the company’s monthly performance analysis and reporting.

Zach also researched and presented a strategic plan for expanding the digital footprint of a regional sports media client whose productions have won 6 Emmy Awards. The plan included methods to optimize traffic on the client’s website as well as development of a strategy to break into the previously untapped e-sports market. The company followed through with the plans and e-sports has become a major tier of their event coverage, OTT applications, and media viewership.

In addition to this project, Zach assisted in the research, redesign and development of a California based client’s employee incentive plan across operational areas. He also worked on the plan’s introduction and roll out to the company’s associates.

Zach has prepared federal, state and international tax calculations and returns for a variety of entities and jurisdictions, ranging from biotechnology start-ups to multinational integrated energy conglomerates. He synthesized raw accounting information provided by clients into taxable income models at the federal and state levels. He has also supervised US and India based teams in the preparation of calculations and returns and reviewed deliverables for quality and accuracy.

Zach also assisted in the audits of biotechnology startups, automotive suppliers, and a regional communications company. He reconciled US GAAP and tax numbers to supporting documentation, and he assessed and documented related material variances. He also performed historical trend analysis on the major drivers of taxable income and investigated causes for critical variations.

Prior to joining Accordion, Zach served as a Senior Associate for Ernst & Young, LLP in Seattle where he prepared Federal and State tax returns for multinational corporations and partnerships, supervised US and India-based teams in the preparation of Federal and State tax calculations and forms, performed audit procedures on tax provisions, and executed a variety of Federal tax consulting projects, including Research Credit Studies, Section 199 studies, a UNICAP study, and Federal tax method change preparation, resulting in significant tax liability reductions for clients. Zach also served as a Tax Intern for Plante Moran PLLC, a regional audit, tax and financial consulting firm.

Zach graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame, where he was on the Dean’s List from 2013 through 2016 and a member of the Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honor Society. He also graduated magna cum laude with a Master of Science in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, and is a CPA in the state of Washington.
