The Global M&A Network selected Mackinac Partners for three Atlas Awards in its 2013 Winners Circle at their 5th annual awards ceremony on June 25th. Mackinac Partners received the award for “Boutique Turnaround Firm of the Year”, as well as the award for “Special Situations M&A Deal of the Year” for the firm’s stewardship of the sales transaction for Pacific Monarch Resorts.
James Weissenborn, Managing Partner of Mackinac Partners, was also named one of the “Top 100 Global Restructuring and Turnaround Professionals” by the Global M&A Network committee.
“We’re very pleased to be recognized by the Global M&A Network for our restructuring work and M&A transactions this year” Weissenborn said. “We take pride in our strong client and capital partner relationships, but it is also rewarding to be recognized within your industry as a leader, alongside so many talented professionals and peers.”
Global M&A Network honored the winners from the global restructuring, special situation M&A and turnaround communities at the annual gala ceremony held at the University Club of Chicago. The awards gala followed the Restructuring and Turnaround Intelligence Forum held earlier in the day that featured keynote speaker, Congressman Robert James “Bob” Dold, Jr., Member of the U.S. House of Representative from Illinois (10th congressional district, from 2011 – 2013).
For 2013, 320 transactions were reviewed from the world-wide restructuring communities from which only 38 unique transactions earned awards. Mackinac Partners previously received Global M&A Network Atlas Awards in 2012 for Turnaround of the Year – Middle Market, as well as the M&A Advisor’s Industrial Manufacturing / Distribution Deal of the Year ($250 million+), for the firm’s role in the successful turnaround and financial restructuring of PlayPower, Inc.
